Biographie (Anglais)

Doctorate studies in the Graphic Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland. In 2007 obtained her Master Degree in Prof. Rafal Strent class. In 2002 earned a Master Degree in the Faculty of Journalism & Social Sciences of the Warsaw University. Works mainly in printmaking (especially the linocut technique) and painting. Organizes exhibitions promoting the art of modern printmaking, fulfils in didactics. Three prints from her Master’s series “Poles” are now in the permanent collection of the National Museum in Warsaw. Other works are in the collection in the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in Italy, in the National Museum in Damascus in Syria. The linocut „Figuration I” was awarded the 2102 MCKiS Directors Year Prize in the „Warsaw Graphics” competition. Doctorate’s series of large scale linocut prints is based on the ornaments of Islamic architecture. A specific decorative style ablaq developed in the Ottoman Empire and other geometric elements of the Islamic art were transposed into a highly personal, simplified visual language. With no context these abstract forms seem hard to classify and locate in time.
